PC Version 1.1
(running everything max - PhysX on)

After Posion Ivy infects Arkham Asylum, (in the open garden outside the mansion) on my way back from the mansion after talking to Arron Cash I ran into a massive corrupted texture that spanned the two sentry towers before the door. At this point the game also slowed down to a crawl.

I was only able to get past this point by a reboot of my PC.

texture corruption is usualy caused by overheating videocards.
when u start to see artifacts appear on ur screen.

so check ur video card temps.

umm - it could be that, I had been playing for about 5hrs - do you think that would also cause a slowdown?

yes, and if you played for longer you would have seen your computer switch itself off.

You have a gtx260, use a program called evga precision to control your fan speed, run at around 60 percent and you will never see your temp go above 70 degrees in any game.

I had something similar early on in the game in the same sort of area.
A giant triangle stretched all down the length of the path.
It's just a small bug and restarting fixed it. Don't worry unless it happens all the time.
