Well if my memory serves me right Max(UT3) was created with Unreal engine 3 and he was consisted of 2,000,000 polys if we take into account from the various reviews that eidos almost maxed out Unreal engine's 3 possibilities i'd say more than 2,000,000 polys

Are we talking about the original Hi-poly Detail detail mesh or the actual Renderable mesh that was derived from the original and is the one we see in-game?

Because the Detail mesh is always >>>>>>> larger than the renderable mesh.

I guess you are asking us to guess the polycount of the Renderable one, but can you confirm, Keir?

Aaaand the competition is closed. Thanks to everyone that entered. I'll make my obligatory cup of tea now and sift through the answers to pick the winner.

Good luck people :)

OK everyone, the results have been processed and tea has been consumed.

However, one result in particular has raised some flags and I will now conduct a stewards' inquiry. The announcement of the result and winner of this competition may be slightly delayed.

Ooooh, the drama!

OK everyone, sorry for the delay... we have a winner! A winner who has managed to guess the number of polygons precisely. I did some research of IP addresses, etc, to ensure the guess was legitimate.

The answer is 20,940 polygons make up the Killer Croc model in Batman: Arkham Asylum. So please congratulate....

i thnk it is around 20940

....who managed to get it on the nose.

Thanks to everyone who took part in the competition, and commiserations to those that didn't win - but don't worry I'll be running another competition shortly so stay tuned
