View Full Version : Can a (non-room) brush be moved by a switch, etc?

Hello all,

I'm a relatively new Dromeder so be gentle.

I'm happy to go and read how to do this - just want someone to confirm I wouldn't be wasting my time looking.

I have a small solid-fill brush acting (hopefully) as a convincing secret door (the texture exactly matches its surroundings). Is it possible to make it move to reveal the treasure behind?

No, but have a look in miss12/miss13. There are lots of secret doors in there, and you use the TexRepl r0 property to specify which texture goes on the door.

However I think there's a better way to do secret doors: Put a cabinet or some other furniture in front of the doorway and have it slide out of the way like a sliding door. Or you can use a painting to cover a hole concealing a safe. Technically speaking the objects won't blend in, but as long as you make a sensible choice of object, the player won't realise it's a door until they find the switch.

Thanks for the response.
That saves me staring myself blind looking for the fix.
