So, I'm not sure if I'm running into the errors that other people have. The "we released it too soon" stuff was from a week ago, and I assumed that since FF7 was available for purchase, it couldn't be that they still hadn't shut off access to a pre-release version. So I spent the $9.99 and bought it.

Problem is, it won't even download. There's a "download manager" file that I had to download first, which then began to download a series of 3 items. Now, it's stuck on downloading the second item. The progress bar isn't moving, the data is stuck at 374.88MB / 2372.28 MB (15%). I tried opening the "download manager" file as an administrator, and pausing/unpausing the download, but it's still stuck. What do I need to do to get the game that I've paid for?

Also, how can I download the game (or the "download manager" file) again if I decide to delete it or need to do a system restore?

There should be a bunch of flags at the bottom. It seems that the UK flag is selected by default; I made my purchase by clicking on the U.S. flag.

I suggest everyone put in a support ticket they know of the issue sooner rather then later.





Last time I'm buying anything digitally from SE ever again.

I'm having the same problem Jonathan. I submitted my order and after it processed I was given a blank page. I put in a ticket for it, but haven't heard back yet.

Stuck at 15% also. The progress bar for the download acts as if there is only around 370 MBs. First time I downloaded 365.55 / 2372.28 MB then I deleted and did it again and got 369.55 / 2372.28 MB.

I had this issue when I tried to use a debit card but my actual credit card worked fine.

At least I'm not the only one having this issue.....Hopefully it just starts to download on it's own later in the day... Or maybe the servers are getting hit pretty hard.

I can't even get the download manager to work. If I try running it from the downloads window in the browser nothing happens. If I go to the folder and doubleclick it, it says it's "not a valid Win32 application."

Did the people getting past 15% do anything different? Were you repeatedly clicking on "resume"? Did it start downloading by itself without interaction from you?

I got past 15%..got to 22% and it stopped again :/





also I just hit resume and it finally started again..I wonder if it's an influx of so many people Dling the game the download server can't handle it

Ok, now were rockin! 40%. I did keep pressing resume when it showed up (no more then 10 times for me), but then the download manager flickered a bit by itself and the mouse pointer turned to the loading/busy sign for a bit then after that, the download stared flowing again, 43% now

Just bought it and stuck at 15%.
Wondering if its a flood of their servers.. i guess ill go to work and let it attempt at downloading for the rest of the day.

I closed the downloader, hit yes to resume later, and reopened it. After 1 min of it thinking, it started to DL passed 15%. Hope this helps some people, if not, sorry http://na.square-enix.com/tools/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-cry.gif

You need to redownload the download manager.... it should be 365 KB when complete

Only advice I can give is to keep hitting resume. I kept at it and it finally started downloading, Im at 97%. I did turn off all my antivirus software, and firewalls though. I also right clicked the download manager and hit troubleshoot and it suggested that I run it in some windows xp compatibility.

Update: I received the purchase confirmation email and was able to work my way to the download from there. Things must be running slow.


I'm sure I'm not alone with this. I just purchased FFVII for PC and while the payment was successful (I checked my bank account, it was charged) I received nothing in return.

No email, no link for a download manager, nothing. There isn't even a section of the website for purchase history and the game isn't added to 'my games' section of the my profile.

I figured I could at least download the download manager somewhere and log into that, with the hope that my purchase history is there - but I can't even find a link to the download manager on the whole site, google isn't helping.

Hopefully SE is aware of this issue and can find the accounts that were charged but did not receive anything.

Fock stopped again at 20% 485.03... I'm surprised that they havent been able to come through the second time around as far as product delivery is concerned... someone is probably taking some heat for this .

Yes, I was doing other stuff (watching streams on twitch.tv, browsing steam) and I'd occasionally flip back to the download manager and hit resume. If it was instantly switching back to pause, I'd hit pause myself and then resume. Not sure if that mattered at all.

Hey, on the receipt/confirmation page. Under the tab that says, "Product Name" did any of you guys see a green link to download it there? I didn't get a pop-up or anything either but the download link on the receipt/confirmation page did show. I'm downloading it as we speak...however, my download just stopped at 15% on 2/3 of the download :\

I managed to squeeze out an extra 1% by disabling my firewall and my antivirus.





So now i'm hung up on 16% rather than 15 like everyone else.





edit: Nope, now i'm crusing! 22% and moving!

Nop, the download link doesn't show at all for me, which is the biggest problem, download crashing would be more tolerable (but not much), as the server might be overloaded with all the downloads. No download link at all? What in the nine hells?

my advice to all of you is to be patient, also i was having trouble downloading this (the DL manager dled and i was able to dl 1 of 3 files at first before it stopped) I THEN UNPLUGGED MY ROUTER AND PLUGGED MY CABLE MODEM DIRECTLY INTO MY NIC (NETWORK INTERFACE CARD) on my Comp. WORKING LIKE A CHARM :)

I can't purchase the FFVII for PC, it says it's unavailable for my location. I doubt it's not available for NA.

Turning off my anti-virus and firewall jumpstarted the download for me. It was stuck at 0% for the last hour.

My download was stuck at 15% for about an hour or so, it is NOW finally moving (slowly at that) and it started just by hitting resume about 100+ times and the last time it just stayed on resume and started... so hopefully this finally downloads!





Edit: spoke to soon.... stopped at 18% :'(

Sitting in the same boat with no confirmation... From what I'm seeing here is it took others 40minutes+ to get theirs? Guess I'll be waiting a bit.





When I made the purchase, the "Order Being Processed" page loaded blank. I noticed the order number in the URL however so did a lookup. It is saying it was purchased, but even there there is no link to download.

Just adding that in as a FYI for my experience ^^;

The store won't let me download the Final Fantasy VII PC game because my "payment method for this location cannot be selected"? What kind of nonsense is this? I use my debit card at every single location that I want to purchase items online but all of a sudden, my card won't be supported by Square Enix? I was at the North American download page and my card is definitely North American. Does anybody have any troubleshooting issues with this?

The progress bar isn't moving, the data is stuck at 374.88MB / 2372.28 MB (15%). I tried opening the "download manager" file as an administrator, and pausing/unpausing the download, but it's still stuck. What do I need to do to get the game that I've paid for?

Just be patient, keep tapping that resume button. I have been stuck for a little while at 15% but now as I type this it's downloading :) What also may help is temporarily disabling your firewall and anti-virus (as seen in the forums). Other than that...be patient and keep tapping that resume button. Good luck and when it downloads/installs, enjoy!

For anyone who is geting stuck I fixed it by selecting options and opening a Proxy server. Just sure your Normal IP adress and it should start downlaoding again... Worked for me Anyway

Yeah, that's the exact error that I get. I have enough money in my Debit Card and my PayPal goes right from my bank. There should be no reason for the errors to occur.

Yeah, it sure loves to pause itself. But i haven't had any progress even after continuously repressing Resume after it pauses itself. :l

So I was able to download it thanks to someone posting the download link. Issue is that I never got a confirmation or receipt. I even ended up paying twice as I was confused there was no email, thanks for buying screen, receipt or anything. I already spent 20 on it and so not willing to try it again. I ordered it over an hour ago and still no email or anything. Has this happened to anyone and did you eventually get email?

Same thing happened to me. Using posted download link, I now have it installed but I need the confirmation page for the serial. I actually ended up buying it twice due to having no clue what this blank page was and no confirmation email. It has been over an hour. I can't find an account purchase history or anything on similar sites. It is very frustrating, because I have no proof of purchase except for when my online bank statement gets updated and by then I will be stuck in hospital for few days recovering from surgery.

Okay so I have had trouble all day but here is exactly what i did to fix it.


*started download from scratch to desktop*


*at 15% stall attempt to close the download manager and it will ask if you want to resume later hit yes*


*a new shortcut appeared next to the download folder that is a "resume download" shortcut click it*


*started downloading past 15% (1 of 3)*





I'm at 54% and running steady now if it stalls at the end of part 2 of 3 I plan to repeat steps, hopefully this is a consistant workaround

I managed to get it downloaded after a couple of hours of clicking Resume/Pause, but now I need to register the serial number. I was a dummy and accidentially closed the window with the serial on it, and it's not listed in my profile or anything. I was told it may be in a confirmation email sent to my address, but I haven't gotten one. I went to findmyorder.com and put in my card/email, but it didn't find my order.


This is rather heartbreaking. I just wanna play the game. :(

Happened to me to rerun the downloader and point it to the same directory you dled the bin files. Let it do it's thing and it will actually dl the EXE file needed to install the bins.





My problem now is that it says Loading 10% then errors out saying there's no connection. Thanks Square Enix!

Thats the thing my man, its not just one error, its about 3. People cant register, people cant pay for the game, and people cant download it. A total nightmare and you would think with FFVII being -one of- the most popular RPG's ever, that they would have been better prepared. I mean its not Remake for PS3 but I mean come on, its not like SE is some small company here either.

EDIT: After staying consistant, I got through and it accepted my payment, gonna start the downloading now, dear goddess I hope it works.

I'm getting the same error, but my understanding is that "Payment Method" and "Name:" are two different things (just very poorly arranged on the screen). I think "Name:" is just asking for the name on the credit card.


I tried everything else I could think of -- "Visa," "Credit Card," etc. -- and nothing worked. I have no idea what the problem is, but it's annoying.

nadim: Click the Square Enix NA box on the left. Then log in from there. The one on the right logs you into Global Square Enix site, not NA.

As the title says, I bought FF:VII for the PC yesterday. I've yet to receive a confirmation email. I'm planning on returning it for a refund as the Digital River site states: "The Strategy First, Inc. store by Digital River offers a 30-day money back guarantee." I have my order number but when I enter it, both the SE site and the Digital River site both say they can't find it.

Anyone else have any problems like this or any solutions for that matter?

Can someone please send me the download manager file. I have the serial number and unlocker numbers, but I can't download the file. I have closed out of the order completion page, and findmyorder.com basically says I never placed the order even though my card was charged. I also never received an order confirmation email. Please, I have literally tried everything. It's been close to 24 hours since I've bought the game and I've got squat.

It could be what it was asking for, I'm not really sure. I know that me and several other people, no matter what we typed in that Payment Mentods Name box, it kept giving us the error mentioned in the OP. The only way I got it to work for me was the method I mentioned above

I just tried again now and was able to purchase it. For "Payment Method Name" I used VISA. I still don't know if this was the correct thing to do or not but I am downloading the game now.

i tried emailing the address provided and it keeps being returned as un deliverable.

For those of you that can't find your key search your browser history for the 'order completed' page should be there and have your codes and dl link.

So after a many emails to Square and Digital River trying to get answers to my problems, I finally spoke to someone who was able to get me a refund. I started with emails to both companies. This method did not work. So I called Square directly and told them my problems with the purchase, and they gave me the number to Digital River, and told me I would have to contact them for a refund. So I called Digital River at 952-253-1234 and spoke to a rep who said she would give me the refund. She said she was sending me an email, and that I would have to respond to it and the refund would be complete. So after 4 hours had gone by and no email was received from them, I decided to call again.


Once the 2nd rep got on the phone I explained that I had already called and that I was supposed to get an email but never did. She looked up my order number and stated that the order was on file but for some reason it did not have my email address. And she said that is why I never recieved the email from customer support or a confirmation email for my purchase. She asked how I had my order number and I explained because I took a screenshot when the order was placed. She said usually the email address is attached to the order and that without it they cant send you the confirmation email. This would explain why many of you including myself never got one. So basicly alot of peoples email address are getting lost in the process. Even though they are getting billed they are not getting the confirmation wich includes the security key and order number.


You would think they would have stuff like this working before hand. Its like they have neve done this before or something.

I bought a $25 Mastercard to purchase FFVII today..been waiting to buy this game for ages..

I come home and go to the checkout..and it says i cant use this card.. can someone explain to me why I can use these to get game time for FFXIV and XI but not to purchase VII..this is really making me mad and this is my only method of payment...

I can't even buy the damn game... Every time I click on the buy now button, no matter what browser I'm using or which computer I'm on... It just sits there and does nothing. The page constantly tries to load with no success. Has anyone else had this particular problem? I know this whole release has been a huge mess, but I haven't been able to find a post concerning this particular problem.

It's probably divine intervention trying to save my ten bucks... but I honestly don't care about the money. I also don't care about the crappy music and other complete screwups with the actual game (I can wait for the mods). I JUST LOVE FF7 AND WANT THE ACHIEVEMENTS!@!#!!

Square-enix... stfu, and take my money.

Don't log into your account. Just go to the payment page while logged out, put in whatever email/username/password combo you want (including the email/username/password for your current account) into the fields on the payment screen. When you're logged in, for some reason it asks for the name of your payment option, and nothing you put into that field is valid. However, when logged out, that field isn't present and your payment will go through fine.


The only problem with this is that it creates a new account for you, even if you use the exact same credentials as your existing account...
